Pop songbird JoJo made a big splash on the Internet when she released her own remake of Drake's drunk-dial ballad 'Marvin's Room.' While touring with Joe Jonas and Jay Sean, the 20-year-old singer would perform her explicit rendition of the song, but lately she's been cleaning up her act.
Concerned about the song's content and how it will affect her young female audience, JoJo now performs a clean version of Drizzy's viral ballad. "I think after the third show I stopped doing the explicit version of ‘Marvin’s Room’ because I was looking out into the audience and seeing these young girls, some of them as young as seven, eight years old," she told Rap-Up. “I could not go back onto my bus and feel good about myself. I couldn’t look into the eyes of the mothers and say, ‘F--- that new girl.’ I felt really bad. I didn’t feel comfortable as a young woman and a role model to be doing that.”
JoJo admits she was hesitant about remaking Drake's song but was even more surprised that Drake, himself, gave her the thumbs up. “We had some communication and I know that he was receptive to it," she recalls. "[He] said some really nice things about it, and that was so amazing for me to hear."
JoJo is currently working on her third album titled Jumping Trains, which is schedule to drop next year.
